Electroplating Worker

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is:
1) Performing routine types of electroplating processes including but not limited to anodizing, brush plating, magnesium treatment, chemical milling, and allied pre-plate and stress relief processes that are associated with an aircraft repair facility on a variety of metals such as chrome, silver, copper as well as other commonly used metals and compounds; 2) Understanding and completing work assignments through oral or written instructions from a supervisor or journeyman electroplater; 3) Interpreting blueprints, manuals, sketches, and local directives to select proper stripping, surface preparation, and plating process for each part based on standardized processing procedures; 4) Assisting higher level workers in calculating formulas, voltage and amphere settings, and plating time; 5) Using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, inside outside snap gauges, and thermometers and is capable of measuring tolerances of .0001 inch. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
