Qualifications
Must be a self starter, motivated, and a professional. Must be able to motivate and appropriately advise students in their job search efforts. Must have good computer skills.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Sales background or related industry experience is a plus.
Language Skills
Must speak fluent English, Spanish is a plus. External Description: Position Summary
The Career Advisor is responsible for ensuring that the career services processes, from providing clerical support to the Director of Career Services through graduate job search assistance, functions smoothly and effectively and yields an acceptable employed graduate rate as defined for each program.
Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains detailed, accurate records regarding job search assistance efforts and placement verifications.
Implements and manages the defined job search assistance process, as defined in the Career Services Policies and Procedure Guide, which achieves an acceptable employed graduate rate in each program offered.
Enters data into STARS system including postings and placement tracking.
Reconciles and updates Employment Posting books, bulletin board, and Web site.
Procures new job orders and maintains an order bank of new applicable positions.
Provides support in the professional development of each student and schedule appointments with students to provide job search assistance.
Provides career advisement to in-session and prospective students to facilitate corporate retention and enrollment objectives and the job search assistance process.
Provides weekly reports to Director of Career Services regarding employed graduate performance and statistics.
Maintains comprehensive records regarding each student's interaction with Career Services and his or her job search.
Forms and operates, in conjunction with the Director of Career Services, an Alumni Association for the purposes of generating referrals, employment opportunities and company feedback.
Ensures the successful execution of each graduation ceremony.
Adheres to the policies and procedures set forth in the Florida Career College Career Services Policies and Procedures Guide.
Performs any additional duties as defined by the Director of Career Services and the Executive Director.
Key Success Factors:
A Career Advisor must achieve an appropriate number of employed graduates each week to maintain a 90% employed graduate rate. To accomplish this, the performance involving facility relationships and student preparation must be maintained at a level to support the need for employed graduates each period. A Career Advisor is expected to maintain the following performance in each area:
Facility Relations
Maintain an order bank of no less than 40 open orders of which 15 orders at any given time are actively interviewing.
Procure 20 new job openings each week to maintain the open order and active interview level.
Accomplish 120-140 targeted calls per week. Position Type: Full Time

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
