Position OverviewThe director, strategic projects, will effectively lead and efficiently deliver strategic, highly visible, cross-organizational projects across the enterprise. This position will drive the planning and execution of work that creates tangible benefits including sales increase, cost reduction, and company growth. The position requires a proven ability to lead large, complex organizational change initiatives through effective influence-based leadership. The Director, Strategic Projects will leverage strong tactical project management and administration techniques to manage, direct and control projects to meet or exceed business needs and deliver the project objectives on time and within budget. This role requires strong stakeholder expectation management through clear, audience-based communications, the use of problem-solving techniques to remove barriers and resolve conflict and agility/adaptability to be effective in delivering projects in a fast-paced changing business environment.Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Work with Sr. Executives to shape the project objectives based on business need, ensuring they are aligned with the overall corporate strategies
Manage and control the setup, planning, execution and delivery of project deliverables by directing, facilitating, influencing and coordinating project-related activities and resources according to the SEG's standard project delivery process (PDP) to ensure delivery is on time, within budget and meets or exceeds the sponsor's expectations.
Build and manage strong relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external customers and vendors, analyze stakeholder expectations and maintain the relationships by keeping stakeholders informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on requirements and deliverables.
Manage and control project issues and risks, driving for resolution and mitigation planning, and escalate as needed to appropriate parties for timely resolution.
Build strong, high-performing project teams ensuring project team members communicate, collaborate and deliver on their individual tasks as well as contribute to the overall successful delivery of the project objectives.
Identify opportunities for improvement in the project delivery process and execute the process improvements as they are implemented.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, industrial engineering or related field and ten (10) years enterprise-level project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Preferred
Master's degree in business (MBA), industrial engineering or related field.
Fifteen (15) years program and project management experience.
Five (5) years project management experience in Retail/Grocery
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
