Escrow Unit Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor tax service contract vendors and activities of the tax area through various means
Monitor outsourcing insurance vendor and activities of the hazard/flood areas through various means
Monitor PMI/MIP areas through various means. Ensure portfolios and activities are reconciled monthly and coverage is removed timely (as required by regulations)
Ensure policies and procedures are accurate, followed and updated annually
Compile, trend and report performance and inventory data for the specified area of the Escrow Department
Work with Escrow Manager, Supervisors and staff to compile data, exhibits and draft responses to escrow-related items included in Client and Regulatory audits.
Timely respond to or conduct additional internal audits as requested
Participate, direct mapping decisions and test loans being transferred to and from LoanCare to ensure data integrity in the specified area of the Escrow Department
Provide direction and oversight of complex items related to the department. Escalate issues and provide updates to management timely.
Provide direction and oversight of all projects assigned to the department. Provide management regular and timely updates including delays to project.
Provide timely and constant follow-up on issues or problems that may have an adverse effect or cost on LoanCare, borrower, client, and/or vendors. This also applies to new processes. Timely resolution is critical.
Ensures all system changes are completed according to metric standards and documented for quality control
Keep informed on government regulations pertaining to loan servicing
Monitor open customer and client complaints related to department activity. Ensure that complains are cleared and communicated to appropriate party with adequate documentation on servicing system.
Monitor status and timely resolution of delinquent tax notices for escrowed and non-escrowed loans
Monitor and track root cause of all tax penalties as well as responsible party and collection of tax penalties
Manage, train and mentor team of supervisors, team leads and staff
All other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, train, coach, evaluate performance, and lead a multi-functional staff in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally with all levels of the organization and with external customers. Strong instructing and advising skills. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to develop metrics and tracking tools at the direction of Escrow Manager and/or Senior Management
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Possess 4 to 8 years' experience in mortgage loan servicing, with 2 plus years related escrow experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 years of prior management or supervisory experience is required

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
