As part of the precert team for a large, beaches area hospital, verify insurance through both online means and phone calls. Read and interpret medical records via an EMR and determine the proper documentation needed to obtain authorization for various procedures. Update internal staff members and patients on status of authorizations, providing excellent customer service.
Medical office or medical insurance experience is required to include exposure to medical records and basic familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 coding. Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
Position is projected to run through July 20th with a strong possibility of extension.
