Office Operations and Billing Manager


Fast growing Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Company is seeking a dedicated Office Operations and Billing Manager for a full-time position with benefits.
This is an immediate opening.
This position is responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the company including but not limited to management of employees, compliance with operational policies and procedures, provide instruction to patients and/or caregivers, provide training to patients, staff and customers, responsible for accreditation compliance as well as any other required agencies.
The candidate will exercise management principles to ensure profitability, control assets, and communicate company philosophy and objectives to the staff and community.
Must be available for on call as required.

Preferred
Qualifications:
Durable Medical Equipment experience
Minimum of three (3) years proven supervisory or management experience
Minimum of five (5) years of collection and billing process experience with all major commercial and governmental third party payers
High school diploma or equivalent is required, bachelor's degree is preferred
Knowledge of Brightree DME Software

Job
Responsibilities:
Responsible for total loss and profit in the branch
Adheres to and implements all company policies and procedures
Initiates appropriate actions on reports and recommendations provided by authorized inspection agencies
Takes appropriate action to ensure that the company complies with applicable laws and regulations
Ensures that Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMN) and other documentation required for reimbursement are procured in a timely manner
Monitors the A/R aging report to attain A/R goals
Monitors and controls the company assets at both the company location and in customers' homes
Develops and maintains a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid and insurance regulation
Interviews and hires staff as needed with emphasis on recruiting best-qualified candidates
Conducts in-service training for staff members at routine intervals on products, telephone techniques, third-party payer procedures or other relevant topics as necessary
Evaluates each employee annually and establishes goals for upcoming year
Maintains and updates all manuals necessary for company operations and establishes process to evaluate company's compliance with applicable policies and procedures
Introduces and implements a quality improvement program to comply with company and JCAHO standards
Monitors billing/collections staff efficiency through audit processes
Maintains updated knowledge of industry, regulatory and reimbursement issues
Initiates and maintains electronic billing
Ensures company pricing and discount policies are administered correctly
Reviews new contracts, incorporates into system and educates staff
Monitors large accounts and intervenes as appropriate to ensure timely reimbursement
Researches and resolves problem accounts to ensure collection standards and decrease days sales outstanding (DSO)
Approves adjustments as per company policy
Assists with month-end closing as scheduled to assure timeliness
Attends required in-services each year
Ensures employee attendance to all required training sessions and in-services
Works collaboratively with other departments to improve reimbursement process and results
Other duties as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of HCPCS coding
Knowledge of ICD-9 coding
Knowledge of electronic billing
Knowledge of Brightree DME Software
Excellent calculation/math skills
Ability to understand insurance contracts for billing purposes
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with branch departments
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the principles, procedures and best practices related to this position
Proficient level of software proficiency in using PC software to support activities, especially Microsoft Office and Brightree DME Software
The ability to work with confidential material and maintain confidentiality is required along with sensitivity to employees' and customers' needs and data
Strong attention to detail
Proficient analytical skills




Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
