Communicate with borrowers in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Contact with borrower to initiate the document gathering process of the required documents. Experience in reviewing underwriting conditions ensuring that the loans meet company eligibility and underwriting guidelines and that all conditions for closing are met. This position is also responsible for reviewing the appraisal of the property, the title commitment and the flood certification for conformance with company requirements. Demonstrated ability to prepare all required closing documents, and coordinate with Title Company to schedule closing.
o Perform outbound calls/emails to Borrowers regarding loan status according to company's policy and procedures and within the standard performance levels defined by company
o Responsible for entering accurate and timely loan information into the processing system
o Review complete file and ensure conditions are met and in sync with loan application on the system
o Ensure all borrower details, case numbers, loan numbers and critical information are matching on all documents
o Submit loans to underwriting for conditional review and final decisions
o Ability to perform pre-closing steps
o Knowledge and understanding the loan submission requirements to ensure 1 touch approvals
o Meet or exceed productivity and compliance goals
o Other duties as assigned
Requirements
o 2-3 years experience as a mortgage loan processor or closer with an emphasis on residential mortgage loan products.
o Knowledge on reading and understanding appraisals, titles and credit reports
o Basic business math to calculate income, assets, taxes and monthly insurance
o Understand rules regulations, policies and/or procedures along with investor guidelines
o Maintains current knowledge about the industry, market trends, competitive position, etc.
o Strives to achieve and exceed productivity expectations and standards
o Ability to 'pre-underwrite' the file assuming what conditions will be needed prior to the file being underwritten by the underwriter requirements
o Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirableEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
