Under general supervision, primary responsibilities of this position are to ensure contractors are completing work per contractual terms and that proper payment is made.
The duties include inspecting work sites, documenting work completed, providing feedback to appropriate parties as needed, and validating invoices.
Position will also assist in developing bid specs and securing unit price quotes.
The end result is to ensure contractors perform all work at the established standard of quality and that JEA does not pay for incomplete or substandard work.
Inspects work performed by contractors which may include landscaping maintenance, roofing, paving, generators, or fire suppression systems.
Provides regular reports to supervisor detailing deficiencies noted during inspections.
Assists testing of fire suppression systems installed by contractors in accordance with JEA specifications and State of Florida regulations and codes.
Inspects generator fuel tanks for leaks, completes documentation for submissions to Environmental Services.
Reviews invoices, compares against work inspected to ensure accuracy.
Interprets contract documents.
Interprets contract documents, assists in the development of bid specifications, developing budgetary numbers etc.
Ensures construction sites are safe and not hazardous to the public, contractors or JEA employees.
Takes pictures of construction sites for future reference and stores on the network drive.
Responds to customer complaints and resolves issues between JEA work crews, customers and contractors.
Performs routing and scheduling tasks to manage work tickets and coordinate workload.
Completes inspection documentation and updates in electronic database.
Attends safety meetings, complies with safety rules and regulations and employs safe work practices.
Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications, including data tracking systems and GPS navigation.
Qualifications OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of construction related experience or commercial building maintenance.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
A valid driver's license is required prior to employment in this class and must be maintained during employment in this classification.
This position requires that employees be in compliance with JEA procedure ES A0200 A0101 RS 628 Screening Personnel Risk Assessments (pre-hire for FACTA designations; pre-hire and recurring for CIP designations).
This position has an hourly starting pay of $24.
