Mgr GIS & Engineering Systems

The Manager, GIS & Engineering Systems will assess the needs and requirements of the Engineering and Operations business areas in their technology needs, supporting systems such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), GPS, and many others.
They will lead the development of application and technology solutions to meet the business needs, and support the technologies implemented.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical staff to ensure all program timelines are met, within budget, and accomplish the technology needs of engineering and operations teams.
Responsible for coordinating all phases of the application life cycle for engineering and operations systems, including but not limited to:
design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
Serves as the functional application expert ensuring the system configurations, interfacing applications, and business processes are aligned to meet all goals and expectations of the engineering and operations functions.
Partners closely with business leadership to identify, develop, and implement the assigned suite of applications.
Work with users and non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements; create and maintain user documentation required to maximize use of systems and business processes.
Tracks and manages dependencies across multiple projects; leads escalation processes to make issues visible to stakeholders and leadership; drives resolution of dependency issues through the process.
Ensures all technology projects meet expected timelines within scope and budget.
Coordinates with assigned business unit to identify opportunities for technology improvements or efficiencies.
Participates in the development of team goals and objectives; develops tactical plans to achieve success and manages the tracking of progress and execution.
Participates in JEA's strategic planning processes.
Participates in budget development, management and administration for assigned area.
Stays abreast of and complies with local, state, and federal legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
Plans, organizes, trains, coaches, directs, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff, establishing performance requirements and personal development targets aligned with the JEA Scorecard and Strategic Initiatives, monitoring performance, and providing direction for performance improvement and development.
Provides leadership and example in meeting JEA's safety and wellness goals.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
_Education_ :
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
AND _Experience_ :
Five (5) years successful experience in application design, development, and implementation.
ORAn equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
_License/Certifications/Registrations_ :
A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment and must be maintained during employment.
The salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,200.
Salary will vary based on education, experience, skills, and abilities.
