The Patient Care Advocate will assist the pharmacist in the areas of prescription filling, prescription distribution, patient engagement, financial support investigation and clerical activities while under the pharmacists supervision at all times.
This position should increase customer confidence and loyalty to the pharmacy by providing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service, and a friendly atmosphere.
This role will accurately and courteously express pharmacy policies and procedures to the customers when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Minimum Must be 18 years of age.
Must be registered with the Board of Pharmacy in the state employed.
CERTIFIED PHARMACY TECHNICIANS ONLY:
Successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam Demonstrated PC skills and basic data entry skills.
Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Preferred Two (2) years experience in specialty pharmacy.
Previous experience with specialty pharmacy software.
Possess good telephone skills and complete cashier training.
Ability to understand and operate the computer in the pharmacy.
Possess and exercise good attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with specialty Pharmacy products, protocols and procedures.

Job Duties:
Assist with the preparation of prescriptions including entering patient information (demographics, drug allergies and pharmaceutical history) and prescription orders into the computer for processing.
Assist pharmacist with filling prescriptions by pulling stock, pouring, counting, restocking, packaging, labeling and pricing the prescription.
Provide first class service by engaging the patient during on-boarding process of new therapy, investigation of financial support and monitoring on-going therapy to support compliance and persistency.
Assist pharmacist with the preparation, reconciliation and billing of third-party insurance claims and in the re-billing of rejected third party claims.
Assist with checking and removing out-of-date product as instructed by the pharmacist.
Order, receive, rotate and store product to assure quality controls.
Prepare orders for packing and shipping; properly execute and record sales and shipping transactions.
Reconcile daily merchandise orders; organize and file records.
Maintain confidentiality in compliance of federal HIPPA regulations.
Attend educational events as sponsored or provided by pharmacy.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
