Job DescriptionThe Employee Health nurse provides occupational health services for system employees ensuring safety of all respective work environments, verifying employees' abilities required for job duties as well as supporting staff in the event of illness or injury.
Responsibilities:
Reviews post offer health assessments for prospective employees and recommend employment or physician's review appropriately Administers vaccinations and supports annual health surveillance program per policy.
Maintains documentation required by OSHA, facility policy and other regulatory agencies.
Reviews employee's laboratory / X-Ray / TB screenings and refer for physician review when applicable.
Monitors cases in which a physician's follow-up is required to ensure that necessary consultation and treatment occur.
Researches and recommends reasonable accommodations in the working environment for employees suffering from disability which may impact performance.
Reports to EH supervisor any current or prospective occupational health hazards recognized and assists to facilitate plan of action in alleviating concern Supports the EH department in monitoring and documentation of workers' compensation disability claims.
Assesses treatment of minor medical problems for on-duty employees per policy/protocol.
Oversees maintenance and confidentiality of employees' health records and information.
Provides health and safety education both within formal and informal settings for employees.
Serves as a member of the Safety and Infection Control Committees and submits statistical reports as required on behalf of the Employee Health team Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Assumes duties for day to day clinical operations in skill and level of understanding.
Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse active with State of Florida DOH Minimum one -year healthcare experience Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Prior experience in Occupational Health or Employee Health is not required.
Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 30 to 32 hours per week (NO call, weekends or Holidays) Location:
