Merchandising Analytics Analyst Job Purpose Job Purpose This role is core to the SEG analytics hub and drives insights around pricing, space planning, assortment, trends, market share, and more.
This is done using tools such as SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Excel, and third-party platforms including IRI.
Essential Responsibilities Percent Of Responsibilities Responsibility % Of Time Utilizes SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Excel, or other analytical tools as needed to drive actionable insights as part of projects, ad hoc requests, or routine deliverables.
35% Conducts data analysis to include competitive analysis, category performance, item level forecasting, pre/post promotional analysis, space analytics, etc.
Provides back-up assistance for data entry and flow into the systems to meet specified deadlines.
25% Assists in developing the frontier of company data knowledge by creating or refining Power BI dashboards and the overall data ecosystem to help democratize insights.
Leverages DAX to compose measures or build out the right visuals to bring the data to life.
25% Accompanies management on store visits to review current category strategies, own brand relationships and gaps, competitive pricing strategies and promotional activity.
Visits local SEG stores or competitors to collect necessary retail information to assist the business units and to review current store conditions and category schematics to ensure proper space allocation and labor needs.

Qualifications Required Education Required Education Course of Study Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field Preferred Education Preferred Education Course of Study Master's Degree Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field Relevant Experience Relevant Experience Supervisory Experience 0 -3 yrs minimum No Supervisory Experience Language Requirements Language(s) Required Language(s) Preferred English English & Spanish Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Demonstrated strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with the primary Microsoft Office applications with a particular emphasis on advanced Excel use (pivot tables, lookup functions, IF/THEN logic, charts, etc.
) Must be proficient at coding with SQL including subqueries and temp tables Adept at story telling using visualization methods through Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar Problem solving skills, including problem analysis, decision making, creativity and innovation.
Proven ability to interpret data and express the implications of analyses.
Strong interpersonal skills with experience in relationship building and conflict resolution to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, management, suppliers, and other company departments.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including the ability to address diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner.
Results-oriented with ability to maintain a high level of work activity under a variety of conditions.
Experience utilizing teamwork skills to create and maintain a cooperative work environment and resolve conflicts.
Ability to persuade internal and external customers to commit to specific courses of action.
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred Experience with Power BI, including creating DAX measures Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects including work efficiency streamlining using formulas, VBA macros, etc.

While performing the essential functions of this position, the associate is regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers to handle, hold or feel objects, tools or controls, talk, see, hear and perform repetitive movements with both hands.

Majority of the time will be spent indoors in a traditional office environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
