Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for revenue recognition, A/R invoices, cash application and collections, in addition to overhead journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. This position reports to the Accounting Manager in our office.
Responsibilities:
Setup billing and revenue recognition rules based on client agreements.
Create and submit invoices to clients, apply cash receipts, monitor client receivable balances and follow up on collections when necessary.
Reconcile accounts receivable account monthly.
Supply accounts receivable reports for the weekly cash flow.
Maintain fixed asset ledger and record monthly depreciation.
Maintain prepaid schedule, prepare monthly amortization journal entry and reconcile account monthly.
Reconcile miscellaneous receivable and employee receivable accounts monthly.
Maintain deferred rent schedules and reconcile monthly.
Record bi-weekly payroll journal entries and reconcile related accounts.
Prepare, verify, and control the entering of journal entries to the general ledger.
Maintain financial records and files.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
2
years experience as an accountant in a corporate environment
Experience with Netsuite or other ERP and intermediate Excel skills
Ability to problem-solve, and multi-task in a highly dynamic work environment.
Proven ability to exercise high degree of confidentiality and objectivity.
Ability to work cooperatively within a team and with all levels within our organization both internally and externally.
Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Flexible team player, willing to pitch in where needed.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
