TISSUE BANK TECHNICIAN (PER DIEM)

JOB
Summary: Surgically recovers tissue for transplant as an on-call, per diem member of the Tissue Recovery Team. Prepares instruments and supplies used in the recovery activities, in accordance with standard operating procedures, follows all applicable regulatory standards.
JOB FUNCTION:
Serves as an on-call, Per Diem member of the tissue recovery team.
Recovers tissue according to all standards established by UMTB standard operating procedure manuals.
Documents all recovery activities completely and accurately.
Assist in training of all recovery personnel.
Maintains all procurement instruments and equipment.
Prepares and packs all recovery instruments, equipment and supplies in preparation for recovery.
Attends training sessions and reads SOP's as directed.
Heavy lifting required.
Overnight travel may be required.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Recovery Coordinator, Manager or Director of Donor Programs.
Must be proficient in sterile technique and knowledge of anatomy.
REQUIREMENTS: Prefer Associates degree in health related field, CST, or completion of the UMTB Tissue Bank Recovery Trainee Program. Knowledge of gross anatomy and sterile technique is a must. Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. Overnight travel may be required. CTBS preferred or must obtain within two years of employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
