Project Scientist


This position is an intermediate level position. Routine duties will include the following:
o Write Phase I reports, relying on information gathered in the field by field scientists
o Review Phase I reports written by others
o Perform routine field site visits for Phase I Environmental Assessments and NEPA Screenings, which may include:
o Completion of field survey report
o Photographing conditions at the site and surrounding properties
o Identification of potential environmental concerns associated with the site with respect to adjacent or surrounding properties
o Transfer documentation to company server
o Analyze computerized regulatory agency databases to identify potential environmental issues that may require further research
o Review of aerial photographs, topographical maps, city directories, fire insurance maps, and other resources for identification of potential environmental concerns
o Review of regulatory agency information to what pertinent reports and data to copy
o Review of city directories to determine data to copy
o Prepare various technical reports as required
o Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
o Minimum of four-year degree in environmental, biological, geological or other science
o Minimum of 2-4 years due diligence and Phase I Environmental Assessments experience (both field and writing of reports);
o Current EPA Asbestos Inspector certification a plus
o Current Lead Risk Assessor certification a plus
o Current HAZWOPER training certification
o Ability to travel extensively (if required) and perform work in the field as dictated by workload
o Excellent skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
o Good verbal and written communication skills
o Strong organization skills
o Excellent time management skills
o Strong knowledge of ASTM standards related to due diligence
o Ability to work independently as directed
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
