The Engineering Technician provides technical and process support for the production line. The responsibilities of the Engineering Technicians are to train and develop others in process improvements and line management, while reducing process variability and addressing equipment reliability issues. Utilizes Process Excellence tools. Maintain current knowledge and adhere to provisions of FDA, OSHA, GMP, MPs, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, equipment specifications and process specifications. Monitor equipment and process status for new products and new installations. Create, review, and update electro/mechanical drawings, operating manuals and procedures, maintenance and calibration procedures, and training manuals as required by the scope of projects that are assigned. Investigate alternative methods and procedures to reduce variability and improve equipment reliability. Assist in the design of experiments, under operational and developmental conditions, to increase yields and improve machine reliability, repeatability and standardization. Vigilant for shop safety, environmental safety, product quality, ergonomics and hazardous energy control. Provides technical training and certification for Process Technicians on the operation and troubleshooting of the production machinery and process. Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.
The Engineering Technician is considered proficient in several cells (machine reliability, standardization, safety, etc.). Can train and certify in area of qualification. Will work towards acquiring green badge certification. Has knowledge of Process Excellence. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with J&J Standards of Leadership and has a positive impact on their shift.
Physical demands required of the position include stooping, walking, pulling, lifting (up to 23 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering, crawling, inside environmental conditions.
Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years of college in a technical discipline emphasizing electro-mechanical, PLC, pneumatics or the equivalent industrial experience is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years maintenance and/or engineering experience or the equivalent is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to organize and prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks is required. The ability to work a 6 am to 6 pm (day shift) or 6 pm to 6 am (night shift) on a continuous operations schedule in addition to every other weekend is required.
Physical demands required of the position include stooping, walking, pulling, lifting (up to 23 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering, crawling, inside environmental conditions. All candidates are required to successfully pass a written skills assessment test and management interview.
Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following areas are strongly preferred: process improvement, line knowledge, PLC systems, electro-mechanical devices, robotic/servo systems, safety devices, equipment installation, debug and qualification, control circuitry development, equipment prototyping, production start-up, equipment process development and mechanical devices, controller, mechanical parts design, tooling experience, materials/metal working, and mechanical power transmission. A working knowledge of Process Excellence tools and three phase electricity is desired. Experience working in a medical device manufacturing facility on a high volume production line environment within a continuous operation schedule is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
