Primary Activities and Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Install, configure, maintain, replace and troubleshoot electronic communications and networking equipment.
Receive and record inventory delivery, document incident management information Retrieve parts from inventory to install and maintain equipment Monitor and respond to network problems providing remote diagnostics, problem isolation, and system restoration Perform operational checks of primary and backup systems Use tool set to maintain configuration of system elements Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager Pay Rate $44.
22/hour Training You may be required to attend three weeks of paid training at the Railroad Education & Development Institute in Atlanta, GA.
CSX will pay for travel, lodging and meals as required by collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Valid Driver's License 18 years of age or older Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network
or equivalent Two years of experience in electronic communications and computer networking Ability to obtain FCC License within 90 days Physical Requirements Sedentary to medium work, lifting up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb Basic Competencies Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications) Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions) Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills) Basic Math Job Requirements Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, or safety-toe boots Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work Work in a dynamic environment with many distractions Complete annual training and pass safety rules examinations The applicant selected may be required to successfully complete a background check Must pass all required assessments Must pass a background screening Must pass a post-offer medical examination, including a drug test This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement and membership is req.
