Operations Specialist - Raven Transport

Overview:
This position works on-site full-time directly for Raven Transport Holding, Inc.
in Jacksonville, FL.
(This position does not pay into Railroad Retirement) Provide safe and effective management and retention of Owner Operators.
Ensure adherence to Federal, State, and company policies and procedures.
Coordinate and monitor load movement, to ensure efficient and expeditious movement of loads.
Efficiently communicate with operations dispatchers, operations planners, CSR associates, company drivers and contractors regarding freight instructions while carefully monitoring safety, customer, company, and driver policies, regulations, and concerns.
2 openings:
1 person for dayshift Monday to Friday schedule with weekend coverage rotation at times AND 1 person for dayshift Wednesday to Saturday (4 - 10's) shift is 5am to 4pm
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Assign units to customer orders to minimize deadhead, maximize equipment utilization and ensure customer expectations are met.
Dispatch drivers accordingly using Ravens TMS Supervise assigned Owner Operators to ensure the highest possible utilization within DOT regulations and company policy Efficient planning of Owner Operators to enable high production from each unit and ensure on-time delivery performance for customers Complete all dispatch work in the TL2000 system in real time environment Monitor and handle all daily check calls by Owner Operators and ensure they are in compliance with company policy Monitor and communicate all service failures of Owner Operators to the Operations Manager and the Customer Service Team Work closely with Safety to address performance issues and ensure compliance with DOT Evaluate daily capacity/ freight balance, and pro-actively communicate to the team.
Communicate any late pickups and or delivers to Customer Service.
Work with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety) Regulations Manage Trailer Pools and inactive equipment within assigned planning zones.
Record and monitor the daily hours of service to ensure DOT compliance Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE NEEDED 3 years of related experience HS Diploma/GED Computer Skills:
Must have high degree of computer skills in Windows operating systems; internet communications; and proficiently use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Must also have ability to learn and utilize other applicable software programs, such as AS400, McLeod Loadmaster and Transportation Management System (TMS) software LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as data analysis associated with the planning of freight.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of information in digital form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
