Aviation Water Resources Engineer

Position Profile:
Hanson is seeking an experienced Aviation Water Resources Engineer to join our team.

As an Aviation Water Resources Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from planning and permitting to design and construction.
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other experts in the field and continue to develop your skills and knowledge.
You will assist our Aviation Discipline with planning, design and permitting water resource components of airport development projects.
This position will be working on Florida projects but can work remote from anywhere in the US.
If you prefer to be on-site or Hybrid you can work out of any Hanson office.
A Day in the Life of an Aviation Water Resources Engineer at Hanson Responsibilities :

Identify and resolve permitting and stormwater management challenges specific to aviation and airports across Florida and the United States.

Design and permit stormwater management features such as collection and conveyance systems, channel and stream modifications, culvert and bridge hydraulics, floodplain impact studies including no-rise certifications, and stormwater management facilities that meet or exceed local criteria and FAA Advisory Circular guidance.

Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using H&H software.

Prepare and update master stormwater models in support of stormwater master plans and updates.

Prepare documentation and coordinate permit applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams to deliver project documents.

Coordinate closely with regulatory agencies and reviewers on the unique and challenging aspects of handling stormwater on airports with the goal of providing safe maintainable and resilient stormwater infrastructure that meets all regulatory requirements.
What Were Looking For Requirements and
Qualifications:

General interest aviation.

Strong technical knowledge and general interest in hydrology and hydraulic analysis.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university (emphasis in H&H is preferred)

years of experience in water resources engineering.

Professional Engineering (or ability to obtain) licensure in the State of Florida is required.

Excellent communication and project management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet expectations and deadlines.

Exposure to airport operations and design criteria.
Preferred Software
Experience:

AutoDesk (Civil 3D, SSA, Hydraflow)
Microstation (ORD/Geopak Drainage)
ArcGIS (in support of H&H modeling, DEM conditioning/modification, basin delineation, basin parameterization for runoff calculation, etc)
H&H Modeling:
