Healthcare Data Analytics Consultant I
Jacksonville, Florida
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Performing healthcare data analytics by researching, extracting, modeling, manipulating, compiling, analyzing, evaluating and validating financial, clinical and network statistical data using advanced statistical, risk and financial analytical skills in order to identify and quantify impacts to medical cost trends.
Identify and quantify key medical cost impacts within network, clinical operations including Utilization Management, Disease Management, Case Management and Wellness, actuarial and other impacted departments.
Apply multiple risk adjusters to population-based analyses when applicable.
Analyze and look for patterns within provider and member healthcare needs and behaviors, summarize findings and recommend actions.
Analyze historical provider trends and experience to support the Companys move to alternative payment methodologies.
Develop complex models, use more complex data and a large number of factors, to evaluate historical trends, forecast and identify best practices.
Monitor and evaluate current clinical practice patterns including associated costs and trends.
Perform data extracts and integrate data across multiple areas of Delivery Systems, including medical, pharmacy, quality and operational transaction systems. Modify and develop new extracts as necessary.
Develop new processes and lead team efforts in defining and developing new analytical tools. Partner with Information Management in the development of new analytical tools such as power pivots and analytical cubes to enhance analytical capabilities.
Mentor team members on advanced analytical tools and techniques.
Engage with divisional leadership on monitoring and evaluating programs and processes.
Job Requirements:
Masters Degree in statistics, economics or mathematics and 4 years experience performing data analytics
Experience using medical and contracting algorithms and inferential statistics
Experience writing SQL or SAS code
Experience using risk adjusters
Experience performing healthcare data analytics
Experience analyzing pricing and costs
Experience creating population-based medical cost analyses starting with concept to completion.
Experience communicating and presenting detailed business and financial information.
Experience in using International Classification of Diseases, and procedure codes in data analysis
Experience with Excel including ability to write macros
Experience with power pivots and analytical cubes
